Review: Copywriting (Anna Sálová, Jana Šupolíková, Jiří Viktora, Lucie Jebavá, Zuzana Veselá)
The book title continues by Write texts, which make sales. So it says, it is going to be about writing texts for advertisings.
This book covers quite wide range. I, as amateur in this field, have found a lot of interesting information. Generally, the style of the book is more like a textbook. There are chapters concentrated on some specific topic there. But there are places, where you feel, that the book was written by more authors, because there are things repeated several times. These general principles do not harm readers, but it was disturbing me. It seemed to me, that there was nobody to unite the book content.
There are references to TV and radio advertising too. I personally didn’t appreciate these chapters too much. It seemed to me pointless, not useful, even though it is part of the copywriting field. There is a question though, for whom was the book written. I can imagine that more people will be in contact with need to write some advertising texts, but for TV and radio advertising it is not really probable. This would be done by professionals in my opinion.
I think I will come back to some chapters in the future and I will look up, what I need. But as I have mentioned on the beginning of this review, this book is more like textbook and seems to me not good to be read whole, but to clarify basic issues at concrete kind of copywriting.
